Atiku’s company confirms sacking of workers

Former Vice President of Nigeria; Atiku Abubakar Gotel Communications, a company owned by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, on Friday, confirmed that it sacked some of its workers. There had been reports that the company sacked about 46 of its employees on Workers’ Day. It was reported that the company, in a letter by its General Manager, Mohammed El Yakubu, had sacked the workers. Dokpesi, seven other family members test positive for COVID-19

The founder of DAAR communication Chief Raymond Dokpesi The founder of DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, his daughter-in-law and six members of his family have tested positive for coronavirus. This comes three days after his son and Chairman of the board of the company, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, tested positive for the virus. According to  ait.live,  a test conducted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on the Dokpesi family came out positive for the eight members of the family. It stated that other affected family members were, on Friday, conveyed by the NCDC to the isolation centre at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, where his son was receiving treatment. ASUU rejects BVN as condition for salary payment

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, on Friday, described as an act of illegality the request by the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, that lecturers who had yet to receive their salaries should submit their Biometric Verification Number as a pre-condition for payment. ASUU, in a statement entitled, ‘This mountain shall be removed.’ made available to journalists by the Chairman, ASUU, University of Ibadan chapter, Prof Ayo Akinwole, said the AGF’s directive was at variance with the order of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), that all striking lecturers should be paid by April 24.
